Relax. Unwind. Rejuvenate
Sauna Solutions Gauteng
We offer custom built saunas. Any size and shape. Our saunas are manufactured from the highest quality wood. This wood is imported and kilned dried for use in saunas. We use the following types of wood:
The most often used types of wood are: the Scandinavian Spruce & Obeche and are readily available, also less expensive, than the others. Also available are, American Bass Wood, Western Red Cedar and Aspen.
– The ceiling height of a sauna should not exceed 2.1m.
– The sauna floor is tiled, including a 100mm tiled skirting-not done by us
We construct our saunas at our factory, completely assembled and then, disassemble and reconstruct on site. We do not just nail a few planks to your wall; we follow European standards for building our saunas.
Our panels are insulated to retain heat, thereby also keeping running cost of the heaters down. We do not install or supply infrared saunas; we believe that the traditional hot rock saunas are the best.
Heaters: We work together with our associates in Cape Town. Sauna King are agents for TYLO(Swedish) and SAWO(Finish) heaters.
We are also able to supply the Helo brand of saunas. These include Infrared sauna.
What Is The Difference Between A Sauna And A Steam Room?
Much has been made of the health benefits of sauna bathing. With good reason. Physically, nothing is more reinvigorating than a deep, healthy sweat every day. Tension fades. Muscles unwind. Mentally, we emerge relaxed, revived and ready for whatever the day may bring.
A few minutes a day is all it takes to look and feel better. The body’s response to gentle, persistent heat is well-documented and proven day in and out by people all over the world. Which is why more and more doctors are recommending its purifying benefits.
Saunas are custom build wooden cabins with a heater inside. The sauna cabin is made from a special wood treated to withstand high heat. Typical temperatures reach about 90°C with very low humidity. Humidity is in most cases less than 10% and is only caused by water being poured over the sauna rocks occasionally.
We build customised saunas to our clients specifications, any size and just about any shape within reason.
The ceiling height of saunas are also limited to 2100mm – 2200mm. Above this height the effect of the sauna is not what it should be.
Type of wood and insulation used for the manufacturing of a sauna is very important to maintain good heat and be safe for humans.
The size of the sauna cabin determines the size of the heater required:
8kw – 6-12m3 – single or 3 phase supply
10kw – 10-18m3 – 3 phase only
16kw – 15-35m3 – 3 phase only
Usually a tiled room, with a glass door or enclosure. In many cases combined with a shower.
The heat is generated by a steam generator that’s placed outside the room, either in the ceiling, adjoining cupboard or in a dedicated plant room.
A Special waterproof ceiling is installed with waterproof down lights.
This room has 100% humidity and the standard temperature of such a steam room, is in the region of about 45-48°C.
Again, any shape and size can be used, one should consider the steam units to be used:
9kw is the unit of choice for smaller rooms. There are 6kw units but hardly installed due to the small volumes they heat up:
9kw – 4 – 8m3 – Single or 3 phase supply
12kw – 8-10m3 – Prefer 3 phase but can operate on single
18kw – 12-18m3 – 3 phase
2 x 12kw – 18-28m3 – 3 phase
27kw – 1 x 12, 1 x 15kw unit – 26-38m3 – 3 phase
